Nairne has a wonderful eclectic array of sculptures, carvings and plaques situated around the town.
Bythorne Park on Woodside Rd is a beautiful place for a picnic or bbq on the provided free bbq. There is play equipment for the youngsters, a lake with a fountain where people are seen fishing or sailing their remote boats. There is also a shade structure and toilets and enough room to kick a ball around. The latest mobile phone game Pokemon Go has seen many visiting here as well with many pokestops and 3 poke gyms situated here as well. The best thing of all though is to walk around the lake and see if you can find all the sculptures and carvings like the frog in the background photo.
The main street of Nairne has a series of murals with plaques telling the story of Nairne. Here is a link to a brochure describing the walk and where to find them, http://nairne.org.au/pdfs/Nairne%20mural%20and%20historic%20walk%20leaflet.pdf
