Our Projects include:

 

Australian Wildlife Ambassadors 

​

Finding ways to support, care, educate and advocate for our wildlife and those that care for our wildlife. Brett as the founder sought out valuable insights and input from local carers, Jasmine and Leanne who are extremely active in caring for local wildlife. We thank them especially for the logo design and hope to work closely with them in the future. Please contact the Club if you would like to be involved with this significant project affecting our wildlife into the future.

Recycling, Reuse and Revamping

​

Recycling items, by accepting donations of 10c deposit containers, soft plastic caps from milk bottles, etc, prescription glasses, stamps, plastic bread tags, material, wool, thread, etc all of which can be used to help our projects and in support of other charities. If you would like to have a wheelie bin at your home to donate 10c depositables for pick up in or donate other items to our projects then we would love to hear from you.

Nairne Railway Station Rehabilitation and Renovation

​

The renovation and rehabilitation of the Nairne Railway Station to make the Station and surrounds a vibrant and inclusive part of the Nairne Community, creating opportunities for everyone through a variety of programs and opportunities to be involved. Brett is currently the Chair of overseeing the continual rehabilitation of the Nairne Railway Station precinct and is available for tours, or presentations on this ongoing project.

Nairne Railway Station Community Hub

​

Supporting our community by offering a venue for community programs, home businesses and a safe place to congregate, meet others, relax and socialise in a friendly non - threatening environment.

​

Nairne Railway Station Museum

​

Find historical items, paperwork, pictures and stories of the past when the Nairne Railway Station was an integral part of SA's rail history. Tours of the Station and museum are available on request.

Nairne Primary School

​

The Club currently supports the school with BBQ events during the school year such as the Parent/Teacher night, Sports Day Carnival, Lego event, and is currently in discussion with expanding their involvement with other programs as well.

​

Australian Lions Hearing Dogs

​

Brett and Debra Gabel are currently carers for 2 ALHD Guardian dogs and provide support to the Hearing Dogs Program. The Club has also sponsored and supported the in- home training of an ALHD dog for a recipient in Blakiston. Debra is currently the C2 District Australian Lions Hearing Dogs Chair and is available to give presentations about the Project and also share about her and Brett's journey with the two Guardian dogs, Maddie and Coco that they care for.

Community Assistance 

​

Community events, bbqs, Australia Day,  Anzac Day, Community Markets, Food and Seed Swap, Remembrance Day, Nairne Carols, CFS Christmas BBQ, training and recruiting support, Tree Planting Day, Clean Up Australia Day, Halloween Community BBQ, Nairne Community Pharmacy Christmas event, and various other opportunities as they arise, including sponsorship, equipment hire, in home support of residents, etc.
